Restore 2 iPhones from 1 backup?

I now have two new iphones, one for work, the other personal. I would like both phones to start off with exactly the same info/apps/layout/etc. on them, I will then adapt each phone accordingly.

I've the backup of my original iPhone, my question is can I restore both the new phones from the same backup file? I understand that after the first backup I'll need to setup different backups for each, but to initially get both phones working the same, can I do this, restore both from the same file?

My old iPhone was a 3g 8g. The new ones are also both 3g's, one a 16 the other a 8g.

Thanks.
