Migration assistant has not copied any files from my old Mac to my new one.. it’s been over an hour and nothing has transferred. My ok’d pro is late 2013 model with os I can’t confirm

I had the exact same problem with Migration Assistant, so I canceled the operation on both old and new Macs. Now I can't log in at all to my new Mac. I know I set up the new Mac with the same password as the old one, but it won't work now.
