safari not compatible with websites

Why isn't the latest version of Safari – Version 14.1.2 (16611.3.10.1.3) – compatible with major websites? BDO (international accounting firm) payment portal (HighRadius)...it even says compatible with Chrome, Edge and even discontinued Internet Explorer...or even Network Solutions' newly designed website (your profile image in the upper righthand corner has a dropdown menu, which does not work in Safari (however it does work in Edge). I make Safari my default browser so that everything moves from my MBA (Retina, 13-inch, 2020), to my iPhone 11 Pro to my iPad Air. Had to change my default to Edge...VERY disappointing.

I think I can explain what is happening. If you are unable to access certain web sites and possibly getting a message that your browser must be updated, this is not an unusual situation. The reason is that web site engineers write their software to work with various browsers based on standardized specifications if they are to be compliant. Some sites are not yet compliant. Also, some older browsers may not be fully compliant. You can hope that your web site's developers eventually update their site to work with Safari, you can upgrade Safari or you can use another browser that does work such as Firefox or Chrome. They can be individually updated as needed. It is important to know that Safari is installed as part of the operating system and it normally it cannot be individually updated. Safari is periodically updated when the computer's operating system (OS) is updated or upgraded. Finally, even if you are able to update Safari, there is no guarantee that it will be compatible with every web site. This is why many of us have more than one browser installed. I hope this helps you to understand what my be happening.

Thank you Ronasara. I understand and appreciate what you have said. I still think it's unbelievable that major organizations that that have just done major rebuilds of their international websites (one of which specifically states on the login page that it only supports Chrome, Edge and Internet Explorer AND NO MENTION of Safari) would invest mucho dollars and that Safari (and Firefox) are not included. I would agree that the website developer SHOULD be building to meet general specifications for open sourced browsers...and, my understanding is that Apple has built Safari to fully HTML compliant and relies on no closed source codes...UNLESS they are intentionally intending to exclude Apple's Safari and Mozilla's Firefox. Something just doesn't seem right.

However, thanks for your response.
