Safari not working

My ipad9 Safari defaults to Google. Cannot use Safari at all. I have moved it back to Home Screen and still doesn’t work. I have Version 16.5

Presumably you refer to the Google Chrome browser? If so, your description would suggest that you have selected this as your default browser.


If you have multiple web browsers installed, in addition to Safari, you can select your preferred browser from iPad settings:

Change the default web browser or email app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
