Cannot upgrade from Catalina to BigSur on MacBook Pro 2014
Twice it finished the upgrade with no errors. But the upgrade wasn't there, still on Catalina.
Any ideas?

Try the following:
1 - make sure you have a minimum of 30 GB of free space on your boot drive. More is better.
2 - go to the Applications folder and look for any "Install Big Sur" apps and delete them.
3 - boot into boot into Safe Mode by booting with the Shift key held down.
4 - install Big Sur from there.

The instructions given fixed my upgrade issue. I had to cleanup to have 30GB of disk storage to continue. The shift key to boot up in safe mode was helpful.
