Apple Care coverage question

I know Apple care will not cover "repair damage caused by reckless, abusive, willful or intentional

conduct, or any use of the Covered Equipment in a manner not normal or

intended by Apple". I would like to use my iPhone from a drone but of course there is some real risk to that. If I crash and destroy my iPhone I would like to know it's covered but I can't find that information. I'll call Apple and ask at some point if necessary but wonder if anyone here knows the definitive answer.

If you don't have AppleCare + and you bring in your Apple has crashed with your drone and has say a cracked screen and dents in the frame the will NOT be covered under the standard warranty. That will be accidental damage and as I said unless you paid for AppleCare + you will be paying for an out-of-warranty replacement. Either you didn't explain very well or the Apple fellow did not know what he was talking about. Accidental damage is not covered by the standard warranty, period.

If you buy a new car and you crash it into a pole chasing your drone you don't take it to your dealer and get it fixed under the warranty. Warranties cover manufacturing defects.

I called apple and the answer was yes. It's covered. It's not as if they ask everyone how the phone was damaged. That makes sense. If you drop it from your car at 60mph and it crumples, it's covered. Same with drone, according to the fellow on the phone. I don't know how that jives with Apple's disclaimer regarding abuse and such but I've never had to make such a claim. I hope the Apple fellow is correct.
