Older projects seem to open but everything is grayed out

Projects in Logic Pro X 10.6.3 will not open projects created before update. Everything is grayed out. Also will not open Template that were created before update. Help!!!

Hi,

Glad you are making progress. In some cases multiple monitors can get fussy. Issue could be something saved in the old project or even if the monitor is "off" it could still be recognized. to check open System Preferences make sure that the monitor you want the projects to open in is the "Menu" monitor. System Preferences: Displays : Arrangement . If that is the case you may need to disconnect or completely power off (unplug) the TV when you open old projects.

Hi,

What was the update from for LPX?

Did you also update OSX? Current version of OSX?

Have you tried to open the project and do a "Save As" to a new project?

Will a new project work?

Does the Audio Interface work with a new project?

Any third party plugins?

I'll watch for a reply.

Hi, Thank you for your response!

We resolved the opening "older Projects" or at least know what is happening; however still have small issue. 1st to answer questions LPX was upgraded to 10.6.3. Current OS for the 2020 iMac is 11.6, also recently updated. Audio Interface (s) UAD x16 and Apollo twin x all work as should. tons of plugins but most working as expected, some with known issues. We are using an external Video Monitor (VIZIO TV) that works fine. Currently when opening an older LPX project the song "opens" in the external monitor even if the monitor is off. The iMac will show a grayed out "version" of the project but all windows will be on the VIZIO monitor. A new project, or a project opened after the LPX upgrade opens as expected. Not sure how to make LPX always open on iMac screen only.
