I have never come across this on my own Mac. However, it seems your screen is failing, due to overheating. Notice and blue where this is occurring? If so, it is corroding somehow, and for whatever reason. So take this in for service, ASAP. So, Get this MacBook Air Serviced...

• Proceed from there as Necessary

Get this Serviced:

Indeed it looks like corrosion. Look at the Apple emblem, and you can see that it is highly-indented. So, contact Apple, as this looks to be a faulty device.
