What to Do:

Get this Serviced.

Your Screen is Overheating:

I have never come across this on my own Mac. However, it seems your screen is failing, due to overheating. Notice and blue where this is occurring? If so, it is corroding somehow, and for whatever reason. So take this in for service, ASAP. So, Get this MacBook Air Serviced...

If Purchased from Apple...

Contact Apple:

Note: Phone calls are taking a bit to go through at the moment, due to lots of calls. With the Coronavirus Pandemic, many are at home at the moment, with much time on their hands to contact Apple. So, just stay on the line, and you will get through :)

Elsewise, Contact an AASP:

  1. Go Here: Find Locations - Apple Authorized Reseller
  2. Click: Service & Support
  3. Enter: your location information
  4. See: if there is an AASP nearby
  5. Contact: an AASP that shows up, and find out more about the services that they offer to fix the iPhone

"Brand new MacBook Air aluminium yellow: I think you might have misunderstood my question. I meant the aluminum chassis, not the screen. I have uploaded a picture beneath.[...]I would like to know if this is corrosion and whether it will spread or worsen."

Thank you for the photo.

Indeed it looks like corrosion. Look at the Apple emblem, and you can see that it is highly-indented. So, contact Apple, as this looks to be a faulty device.
