What is the most recent Apple laptop that has a USB?

What is the most recent apple laptop that has a USB. I have no interest on over paying for a laptop that I will need to purchase more things just to use my laptop normally

You have an actual USB port, which provides a USB connection, a Thunderbolt connection, and for USB power delivery.

If you need a USB-A port, you're left to acquire a dock or dongle, or to switch to a wireless connection, or to return this laptop to Apple during the first 14 days or potentially as a trade-in on some other purchase, or to resell it.

Apple is in transition from the larger and less-capable USB-A connections to USB-C connections.

Laptops were the first to shift, due to the smaller physical size, and the ability to connect and power the laptop via USB-A, something that USB-A lacks.

The rest of the market is moving to USB-C as well, though more slowly.

I do understand that by 'USB' you mean 'USB-A' - the larger plugs which have been around for years. As I said, no current laptop has these. If you want to look for a second-hand one with USB-A you would have to research at https://everymac.com/ and look at the specifications: but you wouldn't be getting an up-to-date one so itnwojld be slower, heavier, and insecure.

In the mean time as I originally posted you can get a couple of adaptors for around nine dollars/pounds which is hardly expensive compared with the cost of a laptop. USB-C (lightning) plugs are smaller, much faster, and usefully can be inserted either way up.

1001Ever:

Should you prefer the traditional USB (A) ports over modern connective USB-C

perhaps an old model with near antique software could be located. Maybe one

that has been restored to function? With luck, older Mac includes system DVDs.

A few businesses offer older refurbished or repaired models; however beware.

Those generally are near end of life; without replacement hardware or batteries.

Sourced examples are still available online: https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffab&q=mac+book+power+book+i+book+mac+book+pro+refurbished+used&ia=web

Or without further disparagement, study the more recent technological advances

and view articles of present adapter/connections to bridge the lack of information

between older and newer hardware; by use of this article. (among recent others)

See images of varieties of traditional to modern USB w/ variants, here..

The adapters and cables in this article work with these Mac computers:

  • Mac models introduced in 2016 or later with Thunderbolt 3 ports or Thunderbolt / USB 4 ports.

These ports support both Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C connections.

  • Mac models introduced in 2015 or later with USB-C ports.

These ports support USB-C connections.

Many newer Macs require modern cables; if you need to use modern peripherals..

..Then a need for extra adapters may not be a big concern. Or be safe, get adapters.

Newer MacBook/Air + MB/Pro, uses USB-C power cable. This may keep you guessing.
