I have the iPhone 12 and I’m trying to play music on my Apple Music I subscribe to but it keeps saying “the operation could not be completed An unknown error occurred (-42812)” but on my iPad it plays perfectly fine it just won’t play on my phone and my phone is up to date please help me

It sounds like you've taken some great troubleshooting steps already. Let's next attempt to sign out of the Apple Music service and then sign back in and retest. To do this, visit Settings > [Your Name] > iTunes & App Store. Tap your Apple ID, then tap sign out. This will sign you out of the iTunes and App Stores as well.
