Who designed the Devanagari font currently available in Big Sur (11.5.1)?

I would like to know the origin of this font, and whether it is the same design as the Linotype font, published by Monotype, designed by Matthew Carter, Fiona Ross, Monotype Studio, Gunnar Vilhjálmsson, Lisa Timpe, and Georgie Surman.

Thank you.
