iMAP error message

Two days ago, my phone stopped downloading my new emails. I deleted my account and attempted to reinstall it. When I do, I receive an error message that says, "The IMAP server "imap.comcast.net" doesn't support password authentication. Please check your account settings and try again." I have restarted my phone several times and nothing seems to be helping.

Good Afternoon sm1027,

We see you're having a problem setting up your email on an iPhone, so let's see how we can help.

As this is a Comcast email account, you'll want to sign in using the "Other" option to enter your login credentials. If you haven't used that option, give it a try to see how it works. Also, take a look at the following resource from Xfinity support to see if this helps:

Set Up Your iPhone for Comcast Email

If you see that you're still getting the same message, you may need an app specific password to be able to log in with your information. For this, you'll want to contact Xfinity Support so they can help.

We hope this is able to help.

Have a great day!
