I am trying to reinstall high sierra on an imac that keeps restarting...looks like a kernel problem...but command R is not working to bring up recovery window...want to reinstall os but High Sierra i can't find the full download

Exactly what year model is your iMac?

Generally you can use Internet Recovery to reinstall the original macOS or latest macOS that iMac can run.

If it will not startup normally or in macOS Recovery?
Then the iMac may have a more serious hardware issue and you need to make a service appointment.
