Big Sur Music app's Search option often doesn't have Apple Music Tab.

It appears that Apple Music is working every other way, on my family plan devices. But periodically, on my M1 iMac, when I open the music app and search for a song, the tabs are "Your Library" and "iTunes Store". Other devices have "Apple Music" & "Your Library" tabs when I search.

I checked System Preferences/Family Sharing/Apple Music and see (me).

In the Music App, I have turned off and on "Sync Library" in preferences & selected "Update Genius".

I have viewed my account and logged off and on to my account.

I have selected "Update cloud library".

I have rebooted my computer.

In "Manage Devices", the "Remove" option for this computer is greyed out.

This happened once before, but I really don't know how it fixed. I played with all of the above.

Any suggestions what I should try next?

I couldn't remove my device from the "Manage Devices" screen (the option was greyed out). So I had to sign off from my AppleID in System Preferences/Apple ID/Overview (It took me a while to find that).

I had to use touch ID on my iMac keyboard, and also type in my password 6-8 times for the process by the time I was logged in again, but the Apple Music tab is back.

Thanks.

Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities, Howard Brazee.

If we understand your post correctly, you're not seeing the Apple Music option when you search for songs on your iMac. We’d like to help.

It sounds like you've done some great troubleshooting so far. Nest, use these steps to remove your iMac from your account and then add it again:

See and remove your devices that are associated with Apple ID purchases

Let us know if that resolves this issue for you.
