Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
I have spend a good few hours trying to understand why I can't get playlists I make in iTunes and Apple Music moved to my iphone XR. I've read a dozen or so instructions with no success and at this point I'm annoyed. This is all much more complicated than it needs to be. Any help you can provide would be most welcome. Thank you.

There are two ways.
If you have a subscription, you can use cloud syncing:
Turn on Sync Library with Apple Music - Apple Support
If you don't have a subscription, you can connect temporarily via USB and sync directly:
Use the Finder to sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod with your computer - Apple Support
