Panel on left side of ipad

How do I get rid of the panel on the left side of my iPad? It is not highlighted in blue and tapping on it does nothing.

If there’s a back button or any kind of situation where I need to interact with that corner, it’s difficult to find the right place to touch the screen. Anyone else having that issue?

What left panel and where is the panel located exactly?

Are you referring to the widgets panel being locked to the first Home screen with the time and date at the top?
