When I try to send photos in a text message, my phone keeps saying I have to "enable iMessage"? What???
Never had to do this before. Just picked up this iPhone 12 mini last week and I'm struggling. One of the reasons I hate "upgrading" my devices. I don't have the patience or time to Learn all the "new" things that have to be done to my devices to have them serve my needs efficiently.
Please help.

If iMessage is on (green) then turn it off.
Restart the phone
Turn iMessage on
Turn SMS and MMS on to send text and photos to non Apple users, and both your provider and theirs need ti allow MMS in the contract fir non Apple users.
