Safari on iPhone not updating site icons in favorites

Recently updated to a new iPhone and running iOS 14.7.1. My favorites icons aren’t updating. Even after I revisit the site, only some will update. Even sites like CNN, ESPN and BBC.

Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities, Chadwick!

We understand you're not seeing the favicon on websites update. We'd be happy to provide information that may help you address this.

Try going to Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Data and search for the websites that aren't updating. Swipe left to delete the website data for that site. Then, visit the sites that weren't updating. Check the favicon to see if it updates.

Let us know the results.

Have a great day!
