Hello. If you have forgotten your passcode on your iPad, your best option is to follow the steps here to put it into recovery mode and restore it.

My iPad has not been used since 2016 because I have a newer one thus I have forgotten the Apple ID I used to set it up and password .I want to use it again but can’t activate
