External DVD drive problem

I have Apple external DVD drive (about 5 years old) hooked up to my new MacMini. Have watched movies on it before so I know it works. I found an old disc today while cleaning the office and wasn't sure what was on it so I popped it in the drive. Drive made a few noises and then stopped. Disc never showed up on the monitor. I tried using Command E to get it to eject and it won't spit out the disc. I doubled checked the drive itself and don't see any tiny buttons to push to get it to eject. I tried unplugging it from the Mini and putting it back in again. Nothing happened.

How do I get this disc out of my drive???

If the disc does not eject, try holding down the trackpad or mouse button after restarting the computer. The Superdrive should attempt to eject the disc.

Some have a little pin hole next to the ejector button, use a long paper clip, I keep one handy for mine.

UPDATE--I had an appt. at the local Genius Bar for tomorrow. But got a new keyboard (non-apple model, don't hate!) a few days ago and accidentally hit the eject button on it and it popped the disc out. No clue what happened or why it wouldn't work with the old keyboard)
