Reference a cell in another numbers file.
Can I use any of the lookup functions in numbers to reference a cell in another numbers file?

No, functions in Numbers cannot reference another file. (A script can, but is rarely worth the effort).
If possible you might consider reorganizing your work so it is all in one self-contained document. The ability Numbers gives you to have multiple tables on one sheet and multiple sheets in a document gives you plenty of options.
A bonus is that you won't risk "breaking" a reference simply by moving a document within the file system on your Mac, a reason why I never use references between documents in Excel, even though Excel, unlike Numbers, allows that.

So in Excel you have one price list and have other documents that reference it?
You might be able to work it so you have the price list in a table on one sheet of a Numbers document, and then have the rest of your work in different sheets of that same document.
As you probably know Numbers can now handle a lot more data than in the past. But if you have really large datasets you are better off sticking with Excel.

Thanks for the helpful answer SG. I'll give your suggestions some thought but I use a few different spread sheets that all reference the one price list, all in excel. I'd end up with one whooper of a spread sheet if I combined them all together. Not out of the question though.
