Animoji on iPhone SE 2020

I’m running iOS 15 on my iPhone SE 2020 which doesn’t support Animoji, but I noticed that my Memoji tracks my face when I go to the Memoji three dot menu. It is clear that the hardware on the SE is capable of face tracking without the FaceID sensors. Anyone know why the Memoji animates in the Memoji menu but Animoji is still not available? Is Animoji on the SE forthcoming?

Why questions cannot be answered, because we are all users on this user to user only forum. But iPhone SE 2020 is Apple's least expensive iPhone and it does NOT have a True Depth camera, which is required for Animoji. Without that required piece of hardware it's not possible to use Animoji on iPhone SE. If you wanted Animoji, you should have considered buying a higher end phone which incorporates a True Depth Camera.

Just to be clear, I’m pointing out that my iPhone SE is capable of tracking my face and animating my Memoji when I open the Memoji settings. So it is capable of doing Animoji (face tracked animated Memoji), it just doesn’t have the “Animoji” Messages App. Apple’s claim that the iPhone SE doesn’t support Animoji because it doesn’t have the True Depth Camera is false. I can effectively send Animoji in Messages by screen recording the Memoji menu. I get that there’s nothing us users can do but it is an inconsistency I wanted to discuss.
