Update iOS 12.5.4 caused totally no mobile signal

Hi,

I installed IOS update 12.5.4 on my iphone 6 which has been running fine for years. The update caused no mobile network access and the phone stays in "Searching" mode. I put the SIM in another iPhone and it works just fine and can receive calls.

I opened a case with Apple and their tech support and technician in the Apple store told me that : "the update 12.5.4 ran a stress test while its being applied and decided that my mobile network antenna is not in a good condition, so the update disabled the antenna". After many discussions, they offered to replace the phone if I pay $130, which I totally refused as the update made my phone un-usable and Apple is asking me to pay for the fix. There is no software roll-back from 12.5.4.

the case is still on-going and I am waiting for Apple to get back to me with their decision on the issue. I am not accepting that Apple decides that the antenna is not working (although it has been working for years) and decides to disable it during an update, then asks me to pay to fix it!

I hope Apple comes back with a favorable solution and that I do not have to make a complaint with the local telecom regulator and consumer protection.
