My employer has switched to an online payroll system which requires employees to download special software: Microsoft Silverlight so I can view pay stubs and scheduling. My laptop is a PC and apparently already had the software installed. I clicked on the link on the site, entered my user name and password and got in with no problem.
The problem is that Silverlight will not work on the Mac. I can download and install it, but when I try to use it to enter the company site all I get is a blank/white browser window. I've tried Firefox and got the same result. Any ideas?
I also use eHUB ... I get the whitescreen after the eHUB loading screen.
I have the newest version of silverlight installed, and everything else is up to date. It is does not appear to be a "user agent" issue, as I have tried every setting in Safari's Developer menu...
I found a solution that worked for some, and that was to copy arial.tts to the library/fonts/ folder in the root of my startup drive. This did NOT solve the issue for me, but did for others online.
Is it possible that my employer used a different font? If they used a different font, would this cause a white screen as well?
Its working now. I just downloaded an update for "flip for mac" which included Silverlight. I didn't think it would fix the problem, but I thought "what the ****". Sure enough, it worked.
