Mac Mini M1 Bluetooth Issue - need to use external mic

Hey, Since getting my M1 mac mini i've not been able to use my plantronics voyager headset. Essentially when i select the microphone on the headset the audio quality goes to 64kbps and is choppy, people can't hear me either as the mic is choppy too. If i switch the sound input in settings to my webcam microphone it works just fine and the bitrate goes up to 284kbps. I was using the same headset on my Intel MacBook pro with no issues and it works on my iPhone too no problem, i believe this is related to the same bluetooth issues widely known with the M1.

I've tried the usual stuff available on the forums and other guides, after 6 updates i had hoped this was resolved, and buying a new router too i dont want to buy anymore hardware, just wondering if anyone has the same issues?

Mac mini, macOS 10.13

Hello Nicky6767,

We understand that you're experiencing sound quality issues when using a Bluetooth headset, and we'd like to help.

Just to confirm, have you had a chance to try using another Bluetooth headset with your Mac mini? If so, does the issue happen with multiple headsets?

"Use a Bluetooth enabled headset to hear and input audio. After you connect your Mac with the headset and select it as your sound input device, it acts as your computer’s microphone and speakers." More about that here: Use a Bluetooth headset with your Mac

If you experience reduced sound quality when using Bluetooth headphones with your Mac, the information here may be helpful: If sound quality is reduced when using Bluetooth headphones with your Mac
