the ipad could not be restored an unknown error occurred (4013), i upgraded to macOS Big Sur and still getting the same error

Can't restore or update my iPad Pro Help! I'm finding it impossible to update my iPad Pro. The update kept failing so I've connected it to my MacBook Pro and can neither restore or update the iPad. I keep getting the same error message - it can't be updated so needs to be restored and updated. During the restore process, I get the error message I've tried two different cables but this makes no difference. I'm going round in circles. Everytime I now turn on the iPad it asks to be connected to a computer so I can't do a restore on the iPad itself. If anyone has any ideas I'd be really grateful. My MacBook Pro is running Monterey.
