Adding 2¢'s worth to the Dictation problems thread

Apple product teams do not read nor participate here, as these are fellow users (and Apple community specialists) supported public communities. You send the macOS product team constructive feedback if you want improvements in Dictation/Voice Control.

Boot into Safe Mode according to Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support and test to see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and test again.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3 - 5 minutes as it's doing the following; 

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts 

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

When I use dictation in email it just stops writing. Rebooted still does it what am I doing? The wavey line by mic responds to my voice and made room silent but nothing comes on the screen. Once in while when I press done the words write out then? Any suggestions.

iPhone doesn’t have mode does it?

No, but macOS Catalina on a MacBook Pro 16" does.

No, it does not, but as the original question was posted in the Mac OS section of the forum, the advice from Old Toad would be very relevant.
