Adding 2¢'s worth to the Dictation problems thread

I have searched everywhere for this online, and I have not seen anyone else report this. I'm a writer, so the Dictation utility is very important to me. Occasionally, it will pretty faithfully allow me to dictate perhaps three or four lines – and then suddenly Dictation starts deleting every word from the last word until it gets all the way back to the first word, and then it puts in "yes yes yes yes yes". Pretty funny, maybe, but immensely frustrating if you're on a roll and the thinking apparatus is working well and you're actually liking what you're dictating! I agree with other posters that each OS update seems to contain more fluff and less utility – and it doesn't matter whether we're talking phones or desktops here.

Apple product teams do not read nor participate here, as these are fellow users (and Apple community specialists) supported public communities. You send the macOS product team constructive feedback if you want improvements in Dictation/Voice Control.

Boot into Safe Mode according to Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support and test to see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and test again.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3 - 5 minutes as it's doing the following;

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files
