Your Account Settings are out of date in Calendar for Windows 10

I've followed the instructions to create a 2FA password to enable icloud to sync with Calendar for Windows 10, it worked. Once. Then the notification that my accounts settings are out-of-date appeared. I repeated the process three more times and each time I get one successful sync before the notification pops up again.
