Powerbeats not showing up in correct colour icon in widget or Bluetooth
Hi,
I have Powerbeats.. the new style ones, but with the neck strap. Luckily, I have none of the connection issues others have mentioned here whilst trying to find an answer to my issue. No intermittent signal or dropping out, seem very stable in that respect once connected. So pleased I went for the neck strap ones & not 2 separate ear pieces style, which people seem to have had other issues with. However, I have them in 2 colours… & when one runs out, I switch them over & charge the others up. So I have one pair in black & one in white, but they’re the same style. When I was using them on High Sierra, they each showed up in their correct colour whilst setting up, & the icon picture for each was in the correct colour for that particular pair, but I was on iPhone 7 then & was all very easy. Since moving to iphone 12 & Mojave, they show up in correct colour when setting up & linking to device (as I reset them to try to resolve) but when they show up in the widget icon, they are either both white or both black in their icon. So I never seem to know now at a glance what is doing what! So, I’ve renamed them in Bluetooth as white Powerbeats & black Powerbeats ..so I have some clue what’s going on in there..but with the new widget system… I never actually know which pair has which battery percentage as they are showing up there as both exactly same colour & style icon. So there’s a lot of looking back & forth to Bluetooth to see what’s going on. I’ve just updated to Big Sur, hoping this would iron it out - but still no change. I have tried resetting them & updating them & deleting them off entirely - nothing works. As I say, they come up in correct colour when setting up, so I can’t understand why the widget doesn’t show the correct colour too. Would be so much easier. Also, I’ve found the widget doesn’t clearly tell me what’s actually connected via Bluetooth either. It just shows what is turned on & I use an audio transmitter on tv, so have them on for that at times.. So sometimes I think I’m connected as the headphones are showing up with the green battery power around it, but it’s not actually connected, maybe Apple could add a little Bluetooth symbol to the widget screen somehow so its really obvious whats actually connected. Love the new design of iOS, looks great, but would love it if this bit was more user friendly as I’m constantly going back & forth now to see what if anything is connected via Bluetooth. Any ideas that I haven’t yet tried would be very much appreciated… I did speak to Apple support & they were saying it maybe a fault with the headphones & I’d need to send them in for fix. But his doesn’t seem like a headphone issue to me, it seems like an iOS streamline issue or setting issue to me…?
