Why do Music volume settings change on relaunch?

I have figured out my ideal volume settings for the Music app on my Mac, for the computer and for my AirPlay speakers. But whenever I restart the computer, or even just quit and relaunch Music, those volume settings are changed, to something seemingly random. I would really like the volume settings to stay where I put them!

Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, were you able to figure out why?

Since updating to Mac Ventura (13.0.1) on my MacBook M1 Pro, the AirPlay icon in the Apple Music app, (the one that appears next to the volume controls at the top), no longer appears. M1 MacBook Pro audio glitch I cannot locate a relevant thread here, but there are reports all over the internet, including several audio forums and Apple dev. forums regarding audio glitches on M1 hardware. The audio crackling or popping can occur in any application and is frequently (perhaps always?) accompanied by a console message like the following: 3587 HALS_OverloadMessage.cpp:222 HALS_OverloadMessage: Overload due to HAL client proc exceeding io cycle budget The audio defect, and console message occur *almost every time* I use an application with audio. I am running MacOS 12.6 on a MacBookPro18,3. Internet lore on the subject suggests deleting the audio plist files in /Library/Preferences/Audio/. I have not found that to be a reliable fix for the problem. Has anyone discovered a reliable solution to this problem? Please help, Apple. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Apple Music stops after playing 2 songs from my library Any ideas why Apple Music - on a MacBook Pro M1 running macOS Monterey 12.4 consistently stops after playing 2 tracks from my library? Ie not streaming but playing songs I have saved on my laptop in Apple Music? After 2 tracks, the music stops playing, the name of the first track still appears at the top as if it is still playing and I need to click the skip track button to restart the music - after doing this there are no further issues and tracks play continuously. The problem occurs again after I restart Apple Music, start playing a different playlist etc
