I found a previous question about how to edit the Messages Sounds file.

I found this post very helpful, but I haven't been able to override the system permissions to add a sound to this folder. Is there a way to enable/disable via terminal?

/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ToneLibrary.framework/Versions/A/Resources/AlertTones/

I'm trying to differentiate my message sound from the others in the office around me. I don't particularly love the standard sounds offered by apple.

Any help would be excellent. Thank you!
