Assistive Touch and Apple Pay

How do I use Apple Pay with only double clicking the lock button? Because whenever I try to use Apple Pay with the lock button (double clicking) a notification pops up saying that in order to use Apple Pay I have to turn on assistive touch… when I simply want to double tap my lock button to quickly pay.
