Can’t use certain downloaded apps after IOS 15

Hi Apple,

Last night, I updated iPhone X to IOS 15 from 14.8. As usual, I force restart it.

So far so good except some downloaded apps are not responding for operation. I deleted the apps and tried to re-download from the App Store with stable Wi-Fi and internet connection. I switched off the screen time and still downloads were not executed.

Kindly advise solutions.

Hello there MWTS1,

Thanks for posting here on the Apple Support Communities! This is a place where other Apple users can submit questions or respond to others to help lend a hand. Let's take a closer look as we do our best to provide some additional insight.

To get started, let's be sure to go over all of the steps on this page here: If you can’t download or update apps on your iPhone or iPad

The reason we ask is if issues persist, then you'll next need to contact Apple Support as mentioned at the end of that same article.

We hope this helps get you pointed in the right direction.

Take care.

Hello Sharon,

Thank you for the valuable advice.

Finally, I reset IPhone and sign-in App Store. Except one up-to-date security update from third party, all the outstanding updates remained STILL. To-day, all updates return normal for download.

For the last couple days after IOS15, 1-minute net surfing consumes 1% of battery power as indicated. After every successful update, I always uncheck the category and boxes including

1/ iCloud

2/ Safari/Advanced/Experimental Features

I believe extra new features will essentially enhance the target performance and possibly take up much battery.

As a layman being an IPhone user, I would be most eager to experience a much light weight new phone (not iP14/15 etc) from Apple.

Thanks for your time.

Wish you and your family stay safe.

Dear Karina,

Thank you for your valuable advice and follow-up. I am convinced the brand loyalty has been kept flourishing from within the users within this Apple Community. You folks are doing great 👍

Standby power consumption seems getting normal while using App (FB; WhatsApp etc) turns out faster than before the update. If that’s the trade off, I prefer 14.8😊. For sure I highly appreciate Apple started to inform whether the new update is security driven or performance enhanced.

May I have your few minutes to share my experiences with Apple map for navigation. I rely solely on Google for car navigation due to its simplicity. With IOS 15, I tried again Apple map and the same issue remains. I use Chinese language for the OS. With Apple map, the spoken language is initially Chinese and mingled between Chinese and English (name of street/road/highway) throughout the navigation. Secondly, the audible instruction is often too short in time together with too much details (the name of the streets). Please invincible IPhone tells me when and at which distance I should keep driving and turn left/right to my destination.

Above issue may not be a problem say if I drive in Japan with same Chinese OS!

Thank you for your patience.

Have a great day.
