My alarm doesn’t go off.

ive always set two alarms for the morning—- one on my phone, one on my iPad. And lately I’ve only been waking up to my iPad alarm; never hearing my iPhone alarm. So, I set my iPad alarm first and waited to see what my iPhone does, and when my phone reaches the time the alarm is supposed to go off, it just shuts off without making noises—- marking it as if I’ve heard the alarm and shut it off. What should I do?

Hi there Emmariestorm,

From what we can tell, alarms aren't sounding on your iPhone as expected. We're glad you've joined us in Apple Support Communities, and we can provide some guidance.

"If you have an alarm that doesn’t sound or is too quiet, or if your iPhone only vibrates, check the following:

  • Set the volume on your iPhone. If your alarm volume is too low or too loud, press the volume button up or down to adjust it. You can also go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics and drag the slider under Ringers And Alerts.
  • If your alarm only vibrates, make sure that your alarm sound isn't set to None. Open the Clock app, tap the Alarm tab, then tap Edit. Tap the alarm, then tap Sound and choose a Sound.
  • If you connect headphones or speakers to your iPhone, the alarm plays at a set volume through the built-in speakers on your iPhone as well as wired and wireless headphones and speakers."

If the suggestions above don't seem to help, try choosing another alarm sound to see if the behavior persists. Let us know how it goes.

Cheers.
