Disk writer/reader

Are there any disk writers that will connect to the MacBook Air thunderbolt 3?

I don't know of any off the top of my head. CD/DVD W/RW devices are old tech and I don't know if any of them would bother to update them for TB3. You can get a TB3 to USB adapter or a USB-C to USB-A female adapter which would make more sense. Any advantages to using USB 3 to TB3 for a disk drive would not be noticed to you.
