iOS 15 How to restore iPhone screen layout

I just accidentally dragged a widget to my home screen. Even though I put it back again my home screen layout is completely destroyed. Nothing is in the right place. How can I restore my icons and their locations. I started to put them back manually and accidentally did it again, while attempting to change the size of an existing widget. Catastrophically bad design to be able to destroy your home screen with a simple accident and not be able to restore or undo it.

I'm sorry, but that is the complete opposite of what I'm looking for. I had a layout on my home page. All the icons had very carefully chosen locations. They've been there for years. Now, I make the mistake of dragging one widget to the home screen (which I didn't want to do) and every icon has moved to new random locations.

What I wanted was to restore my personal layout, that was there prior to that one accidental drag. A simple undo would have made me very happy, but it didn't work. I had to reset all my locations by hand.

Your option would have been even worse, my folders would disappear and I would have to build them again. Thanks for trying but it's not what I wanted, sorry.

I always use Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout.

Note 1: This will arrange all default apps on Page 1 and all other Apps Alphabetically from Page 2 onwards.

Note 2: This will remove all folders that you may have created.
