Can't Re-Enter Microsoft Exchange password in Preferences > Internet Accounts.

My mac (especially on re-start) keeps asking me to re-enter the microsoft exchange password in Preferences > Internet Accounts. But when you open Internet Accounts there is no way to enter the password. The support page suggests deleting the account and then re-adding it. I have done this multiple times. There has just got to be a better way. How can this issue be resolved?

To be clear: it isn't a case of "wrong password." The password is correct. It isn't time to change the password. I handle that issue from time to time.

It's like this: I had to delete the account YESTERDAY and then add it back again. It worked fine. FOR LESS THAN 24 HOURS.

Seriously, how is this issue to be solved? It's a real thing.

Between this issue, and the other one (the bug where AppleID keeps needing the password and then locks you out), it makes me hate my apple. I'm just saying.

Hello Matthew Baldwin,

It sounds like you're needing some help with your exchange account and Mail. We will be happy to help.

If you go to Mail -> Preferences -> selected the exchange account -> server settings -> uncheck "automatically manage connection settings" does that help?

If not, do these steps? If Mail on your Mac keeps asking for your password

Please let us know. We're standing by.

Cheers!

Hello Matthew Baldwin,

Thanks for the additional info. You mentioned this is a managed account. Do you know if your account may require an app specific password? Some managed accounts use that for security. You may also want to speak to the administrator of your account to see if anything is happening on the server side as well.

If all looks good there, reach out to Apple Support here: Contact Apple for support and service

Cheers!

Sorry Merlin thanks for the reply but this doesn't solve the problem. I don't actually use the Mail program; what I need the Exchange account for as managed in Internet Accounts is primarily calendar. I use my laptop and my iPhone as my primary work devices, so iCal is my central calendar, and needs to sync with both Google and Exchange calendars. I never have problems with Google sign-in. Just Exchange. Anyway, for Exchange, the mail checkbox isn't checked. Also I only ever open the Mail program by accident. If I do run the Mail program, it doesn't have the Exchange email as one of its accounts.
