SAFARI UPDATE STOPPED XFINITY STREAMING

I just updated to MAC OS 11.5 and SAFARI 15 and now I can not stream Xfinity on either my MAC Desktop or my MACBOOK PRO, is there a fix for this?

Yes. Many people have complained on Xfinity Community Support page. I spoke to Xfinity and was told it’s an Apple issue. I spoke to Apple... Other streaming sites work on Safari 15.0 only Xfinity gets stuck after you input the password …it’s hung at > connecting your services…

Xfinity Streaming stopped working after the Safari 15.0 update. I’m also using macOS Big Sur 11.6. Yes, it’s no longer working. Many people are working from home and streaming. This was a big loss and I hope they get a fix for it. I currently have 3 case numbers one with Apple and 2 with Xfinity. It's really disappointing when you speak to Apple or Xfinity and they act like they were not aware of the issue.

I hope Apple and Xfinity collaborate and fix the issue.

I have been using my old 2010 Mac mini and 2010 MacBook Pro with the highest operating system being High Sierra. I've been streaming everything for at least 12 years. I could no longer stream xfinty on them because they switched from 32-bit to 64-bit. Other streaming services eventually did the same. So I used my Firefox Browser for the past few years since then. Early this year I was able to buy a now Mac mini M1. Safari was great again and fast until I updated yesterday. I can still stream everything but xfinty with no problem. I tried to watch a tv show on xfinty with my Firefox Browser but that kept buffering. I opened Firefox today and checked for updates and it updated to Firefox 92.0.1 and had no problem getting xfinty to stream. I am now watching a movie in HD with no problem. Firefox always my go to Browser when they screw up Safari. They'll fix it. But until then, hang in there.

I contacted Xfinity today after making the connection. They said this is happening to all of us using MAC. Their solution is to "Use Chrome or another browser." I don't want to use Chrome for many reasons. Apple this is your issue to fix.

I'm also not able to log into Kanopy.com.

So frustrating. I want to figure out how to go back to 14.

... not a perfect fix, but, it's not always a perfect world... I closed everything- safari, mail, etc- and restarted four times... didn't even sign in, just 'restart', and, then, yeah, I know, used Chrome and Firefox, to stream with no problem. No, it's not working on Safari, but, as a metaphor, flying another airline, to get to your destination, instead of your preferred airline, is better than sitting at the airport... At least you 'go somewhere'...

Anyway, that's what worked for me, cuz even Chrome and Firefox were doing the same loop/not working thing, with Xfinity. Now, at least, I can watch....

One of the reasons I use Safari is the tight integration with MacOS. Plus I don't have to maintain 3 or 4 different password keychains and copy between them. I do use Chrome for random surfing and Youtube mainly because "Adblock for Youtube" does not have a Safari version and I absolutely refuse to watch 5 minutes of Ads every 3 minutes... plus Ublock Origin and Tampermonkey protects my browsing on top of my Bitdefender install. So basically nothing gets through my Great wall of protection (yet). I use Safari for my streaming and Apple related stuff because Chrome doesn't have that integration with MacOS + Apple's websites...

Just my 2¢

I have the same issue using iMac 5K and Safari. Xfinity streaming has ALWAYS had bugs streaming on desktop. It would constantly sign you out making you have to go through all the steps again, for awhile I completely gave up on it. But now it’s not loading at all. Phone and Roku TV are fine. They don’t care about desktop apparently.
