A yellow triangle alert has appeared on my desktop stating : "Service Records" will damage your computer - What does this mean; how do I get rid of it?

If you haven't yet, try isolating the behavior using safe mode. Booting your Mac in safe mode will prevent non-essential software from loading at startup. If you don't see the message while in that mode, it can help narrow down what type of software is causing the message. In addition to booting in safe mode, and letting us know the result, let us know whether any options appear in the message with the yellow triangle, like "Move to Trash" or "Show in Finder".
