My son just purchased the new iPhone 12 and is unable to download his apps that are in the cloud- due to not knowing his apple id.
For most of the time my apple id was linked to his phone, but his new phone is not connecting.
Also, his old phone is linked to mine, should I remove that phone after retrieving his apps.
See if he can recover the ID/password. Use every email address he can think of.

What you do with the old phone depends on what you plan to do with the old phone. If you plan to sell the old phone or have someone else use the old phone, do the steps in the article below.
If you aren't going to do anything else with the old phone, you can leave it as it is.
