How to make room in my mac pro to make room for updates?

You can also move your space hogging movies, videos, photos, etc to an external hard drive and then delete them from your Mac. Also remember that you need to maintain an absolute minimum of 15 GB of empty space for the OS to function properly; if you fill up your hard drive completely, your computer will stop functioning altogether at some point.
