I'm new to Mac's. I have an M1 Macbook Air. On my Windows PC I would use a program called Windows Photo Gallery. It would import the pictures from my iPhone to an external drive and automatically put them in folders by date formatted yyyy-mm-dd. It would remember which pictures had been imported so it wouldn't create duplicates every time.
Is there a program/way to do the same thing?

Check out Image Capture (in the Applications Folder). This will move images from your camera/device to a location of your choosing. This is in situations where you don't want to use Photos, the dedicated photo manager on Macs.
Thanks for the replies. I really want to automatically import them into folders with the yyyy-mm-dd format. At this point I'm running Windows through Parallels. Then then I use the windows only program FastStone Image Viewer to import them into the folders I want. If there's a better way, please let me know.
