iOS is not part of your backup. Erasing the device and restoring a backup does not restore the older iOS. I'm sorry, but that is incorrect.

Whether you find the answer helpful or not, it IS factual. There is NO supported way to go backwards in iOS. There has never been a way to do so. If the update caused an issue with a 3rd party app, you need to address that with the developer of the app. Apple provides the API for all updates to the app developers, long before an iOS update is publicly released. It is up to the app developer to ensure their app can work with the new iOS. Apple doesn't own 3rd party apps, nor do they or can they do anything with the code inside the app.
If you are not happy with these facts, complain to Apple. This is a user to user only forum. We don't design iOS. Nor can we provide what you want.

WTF I don’t want to Share Everything with Everyone. This sucks. Safari, Messages, Notifications. They weren’t broke why fix them? Made it worse. IOS 15 is a failed experiment
Instead of maps app try using waze. I swear by it gives u shortcuts tell you where accidents, hazards, and cops are.
What about the do not disturb banners coming on and off ever 10 seconds then repeats a couple mins later. I don’t even use do not disturb or the new “focus” it is awful

This update is terrible!! Just because we have to adjust doesn’t mean we like the set up. Saf are & messaging is terrible! I wish I can go back to the last iOS 😒
