For some reason, despite having content & web restrictions off and having no device management, i cannot clear my search history on safari or open incognito tabs, does anybody know why it does this?

Hi User638,

To make sure we're on the same page, you're unable to clear your Safari history under Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data, nor are you able to open a Private Browsing tab, is that correct?

If both Restrictions and device management are disabled, was this iPhone provided to you by a school or employer? Those two options are generally how one would impose restrictions onto a device but depending on how it was configured prior to being given to you this may be expected behavior.

If this is a work or school issued iPhone, we would recommend reaching out to the relevant institution directly to see if this is expected behavior.

If it is not however, and this is your personal iPhone, what specifically happens if you try to open a Private Browsing tab, or clear your history? Are the options greyed out, are they missing entirely, etc?

Let us know and we'll continue from there.

Cheers!
