The browser is safe, works adequately; you may choose to have Firefox set as default, or not.

For older macOS which no longer see Safari browser update, Firefox or Brave can be good.

FireFox has been my preferred working browser for many years, I leave Safari as the default and my secondary browser.

It is well maintained and the updates come regularly.
