I recently moved over 400GB of files from a 1TB SSD drive to a second 500 GB SSD drive. I was showing 35GB of space left prior to moving the files from the larger drive, and now after I have moved them successfully, the larger drive still shows only 35GB remaining on the larger drive when I run Get Info.
Can anyone tell me what I am missing here?

Are you sure you "moved" the files as opposed to copying them?

Interesting. I guess I never knew that emptying the trash was required after moving something to another external drive. I will give that a try and see what happens. The files were definitely moved as I spent time comparing the file folders on each of the external drives after finishing the transfer.
