Google maps Satellite view

On my iPad, which is a few years old, and my new iPhone satellite view in Google maps is bright and distinct. On my MacBook which is about a year old satellite view is very dark and difficult to see. I can't understand why there is such a big difference. I have looked on line to find a solution but have been unable to solve the problem. can anyone give me some advice.
