Photos Library Issue: Face Recognition disappeared from 2.0 to 6.0. HELP!!

Hi everyone. I recently upgrade my computer from an iMac running Sierra 10.12.6 and Photos 2.0 to a MacBook Pro running Big Sur 11.6 and Photos 6.0. My previous photo library (from Photo 2.0) of 8K photos and videos had all the faces recognized (manually and with help from the program). When I imported the Photos library to the new system, most of them disappeared! I did notice that before the Photos app does the scan of the faces in the People section, all my previous faces seem to still be there. Its after its done doing the scan that it disappears. Any suggestions?! Please help!

Library is located on the local hard drive. I copied over the file from the computer and placed on the local hard drive. Then opened up through the application by selecting the file as another library. Photos then did its updating thing. Thank you for your help!

How did you get your old library into the new V6.0 library?

Where is the library located? If on an external HD how is that drive formatted and connected to your new Mac?
