iOS 15 Find My live location not working for one member of my family.

I have 4 people in my family (including myself). All four of us have iPhones and have upgraded to iOS 15. One of the main features I was interested in was the live location updates in the Find My app. Of the four of us, three of us show up as live location, but the fourth does not. It still shows up like previously... the location works, but it is updated every few seconds/minutes. Not live like the rest of us.

The phone that is not giving live updates is an iPhone XS Max.

The others that do work include an iPhone X, iPhone 11 Pro Max and an iPhone 12 Pro Max. Given that the iPhone X is working, I am certain that this is not a phone model specific issue.

I have scoured the settings but have been unable to find what might be blocking the live updates. I have also searched the web and these forums. Perhaps my search terms are not good enough, but I typically can find answers, if they exist, before posting questions like this.

Does anyone know what I could be missing? Is there a setting somewhere that turns on/off the live updates in FindMy?

Yayyyy, here is a possible answer that has worked for me. This was from Apple. On the person's phone that is NOT showing LIVE on other peoples phones, have that person that you are struggling to see Live go to "Settings"........"FindMy"........"Share My Location". If the slider is showing ON, slide it to OFF, wait for a few seconds, then slide it back ON. I did this on my wife's iPhone and it now shows up on my phone as being Live. Good luck everyone. I think this is an Apple issue. Not a watch issue or not any particular phone it seems to be all different ones no matter what.

The person that I have that the live does not work does not even have an Apple Watch? So no I don’t think it’s just the Apple Watch there are other issues here.

Correction. Both cellular models; one with a cellular plan & NumberSync, one without a cellular plan or NumberSync. Neither has Live working.

That’s not true. My kids have iPhone 7 Plus and they broadcast a Live location.

I have a similar issue. Everyone is "live" on my FindMy apart from my wife. I'm "live" on her phone but she's not "live" on mine. We both have XS Max phones, we both are up-to-date with the iOS. Apple support have been contacted and I have a case number, but no resolution as yet. My wife and I have checked all of our settings and they all look to be the same.

Initially, Live Locations worked for my iCloud Family members after iOS 15.0 was released. However, Live Locations has since stopped working for these persons in the Find My app through iOS 15.1 and even on the latest release of 15.2. I can still see these Family members in Find My just no Live Locations. I have other friends that are not part of my iCloud Family Sharing group that do show as Live Location.

The common thread for my family members for whom Find My Live Locations do not work is that they also have Apple Watches. The friends that Live Location does work for do not have Apple Watches.

All devices are fully up to date with watchOS 8.3 and iOS 15.2. Please advise.

Update 15.2 seems to have fixed it.
